Prepared for Greater
Life will tell you at times that being in a storm for months or even years, things will never get better. Life tells you that when things look cloudy, the daily forecast calls for showers and thunderstorms, the sun will never shine again in your life. Life tells you that the things you’re going through, God's punishing you. In these times people may begin to think back over their lives. The lies you told, sins you committed, decisions you made, times of disobedience; until you say to yourself, “I will never get out of this.” While in this season of doubt, tears flow, hope is lost, and there are many restless nights. On the outside you’re smiling, but the inside you are torn into pieces. The outside may look good, but the inside you feel bad. Spiritually you’re in a fight, emotionally in a battle, physically you may be weak, but through it all you’re still standing.
There may be days of doubt, frustrations and anger. You call on the saints and ask for prayer. You place statuses on Facebook and receive encouraging comments. You call on your friends/spouse, but when you really need them, they’re not there. You may go to a revival with one of the greatest Prophets in town; everybody receives a word, but you. Service is over, the worship team has packed up, and now you are at home sitting quietly. Tears once again fill your eyes after feeling beaten, shaken, crushed and discouraged. After moments of crying you read through your journal, listen to or read old prophetic words spoken over your life. Yet, right now your current situation doesn’t match up to what you believe. You were told that you were destined for greatness; God has a great call on your life. It doesn’t make sense anymore. You think to yourself, “How am I suppose to get out of this?” Your mind tells you to give up, but there’s a leap in your spirit.
That leap in your spirit will not allow you to give up. That leap in your spirit tells you that something great has to come out of this. That leap in your spirit tells you that God promised you something, and God is going to do it. Yes, you may feel beat up in the spirit. Yes, you cried your last tear. Yes, you may be behind in all of your bills. Yes, you may be unemployed. Yes, your spouse may have left you. Yes, your kids may be acting crazy. Yes, all your friends may have walked out on you. However, if it had not been for the shaking and the beating, how can you be prepared for greater? In order to reach greater you have to shed some tears, go through periods of pain, struggle and maybe even feel overlooked. Brothers and sisters, greater is coming. Greater is on the way. Greater has arrived. All that you have went through, and may be going through, has prepared you for greater. Trust in God, believe in His word, know that this too shall pass. I bet if you ask anyone who you may define as great, have experienced the valley before the mountaintop.
Look out world! You were made for this! You are prepared for this! Now your greater is coming!
