Acts 3:2-10

King James Version (KJV)

2 And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;

3 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.

4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.

5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.

6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God:

10 And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.

        This is one of my favorite stories in the Bible.  It’s so much power in this story.  I love this story because I have been in this predicament before.   You know the predicament Peter and John are in?  Have you ever saw pain in someone’s life, but you couldn’t give what the person is asking?

        Today my heart is heavy and happy at the same. I have a few friends that are going through some of the worst crises life can offer. At the same time, my life after going through years of pain is finally turning around.  I can’t provide money, the clock to turn back the hands of time, a vacation to get away from it all…but I do have something greater to offer.  You may ask: “What?”  The answer is Jesus.

          Why I love this story so much is the answer the apostles give this man.  Such as I have I freely give.  What they gave was bigger than money, vacation, etc.  So today, for those of you that are going through, I give to you a man that can solve problems, give you the grace to endure, wipes tears away, a great friend, and a man that with one word change your whole life.  Today I give you Jesus.  Such as I have I freely give to you.  There is so much power in the name of Jesus.
